Arts District Engagement - Long Beach {Bekka + Dan}
Bekka is one of my very good friends - she's beautiful inside and out, so when she asked me to be IN her wedding, I couldn't say no! She said if I wasn't a bridesmaid, I'd be photographing her wedding, so I offered to shoot her engagement session.
Bekka & Dan really are the sweetest together, they were telling me about their recent travels to the desert while we were at Lord Windsor, an amazing local coffee shop in the Long Beach Arts District (it seemed like the perfect place to start!).
We stumbled upon The Ebell Club of Long Beach, a gorgeous, former Women's club from the 1920s and couldn't resist it's charm - the vintage, classic charm of the space emulated what Bekka & Dan are as couple to me.
Bekka and I met while interning together at a music magazine, so when I asked her where we should take photos - of course, the record shop, Fingerprints was the place! I swear, it's not all about me and Bekka - Bekka and Dan ALSO met at a music related function - a show he was playing (he's a great guitarist!). Browsing the stacks is a regular love & hobby of theirs - they were showing me all the Beach Boys records they love.
Bekka has been working in the arts for a long time, including curation, artist interviews on her own blogs {www.basicallybekka.com} and helping in various art projects. The gallery Bekka has been an assistant at for 7 years represents a few of the artists that executed murals in Downtown Long Beach so we had to go...
I can't wait for their wedding - I'm so glad I get to be a part of their day + their love!
Thanks to: Lord Windsor Coffee & Fingerprints!
